Firmware Updates for DVRs

DV5 Firmware Upgrade Instructions:

There are brand new audio and video upgrades now available. These upgrades will help increase the audio and video compression. Please follow these instructions exactly as stated or you may permanently damage the DVR, and the warranty will be voided. Note: This upgrade will only work on DV5 models V2.28 version and later. Version 3.24 does currently have an audio glitch if used with an NTSC model camera. NTSC customers should use V3.22 if you want to record audio as well. V3.24 does not effect PAL customers.

  1. Download and unzip this file: Firmware Upgrade V3.24A - Released 2-25-09
  2. Save the .elf file to a 512MB, or larger SD card, and then insert the SD Card with one fully charged li-ion battery into the DV5, then power on the DV5.
  3. Go in to the Menu then select, Memory--Upgrade Firmware--Yes, the upgrade will take less than 30 seconds.
  4. When the upgrade is finished the DV5 will turn off automatically and your upgrade is now complete.

D12-HD Firmware

Updated firmware is now available for the Vision Eye 1080P HD 4 Camera WiFi GPS DVR.

  1. Download the .bin file from the above link and copy it to a SD card
  2. Turn the DVR off and insert the SD card with the firmware on it
  3. Turn the DVR on and the LEDs will start to blink and you should hear the DVR beep
  4. When the LEDs turn off and you hear a buzzer sound the DVR will restart and you will have updated the DVR

PV500 (Original) Firmware

PV900 EVO Firmware

(03-07-12) New firmware is now available. Please read the upgrade instructions before proceeding as you may damage the DVR if it is not done properly!

TG300 Firmware

(6-20-13) New firmware is now available.

  1. Copy the .bin file from the .rar archive above onto a formatted SD card.
  2. Insert the SD card into the device.
  3. Turn on the device, stop recording and press the menu button twice to enter the setting mode.
  4. Press the EV button and menu button simultaneously; this will start the update.
  5. DO NOT do anything with the camera while the update is occurring. The camera will display a notification when the updating is finished.
  6. After it's finished, restart the camera. Your camera is now updated and ready to use.

PV-1000T

(10-16-14) New firmware now available.

To upgrade the device please extract the .rar and save it to the SD card. Insert the card into the DVR and go to setting do the firmware upgrade.

PV-500 EVO 2

(10-16-14) New firmware now available.

To upgrade the device please extract the .rar and save it to the SD card. Insert the card into the DVR and go to setting do the firmware upgrade. Once the firmware has been upgraded, you will need to enter video preview mode for the 1080P mode to become available in the video settings.

PV-500 EVO 2U

(1-12-16) New firmware now available.

PV-WT10 Allows for device to display time in a 12 hour format.

(6-15-16) New firmware now available.

  1. Copy the .bin file onto a formatted SD card.
  2. Insert the SD card into the device.
  3. Wait 30 seconds and power on device

Firmware Updates for Cameras

FC3-HD Firmware

(5-15-12) New firmware is now available.

  1. Extract the archive to your computer.
  2. Connect the camera to computer using a USB cable, with SD card inserted. Before updating firmware, delete the "setup.ini" file on the card.
  3. Run FirmwareSetup.exe and click "Firmware". Select the "sz807_0718.pvf" file and click "Setup".
  4. Your firmware will be done updating in a few seconds. A dialog will tell you when your camera is successfully updated, and you can unplug your camera at that point.
Note: Please try formatting your SD card or using a different SD card if you're having problems.

SG550M-8M Firmware

(6-20-13) New firmware now available.

  1. Copy the .bin file from the .rar archive above onto a formatted SD card.
  2. With the camera turned off, insert the SD card. Make sure the SD card is write protected.
  3. Connect the camera to your computer via USB.
  4. The camera will beep for about 1-3 seconds upon plugging it in. After this, the logo will be displayed on the LCD and it will boot regularly into mass storage mode. This indicates the upgrade was completed and successful.
  5. Format the SD card before you use it again. Your camera is now updated and ready to use.

Lawmate Push Notification Updates

Lawmate has added a new Motion Detection Notification feature to their IP-based products, which allows cameras that are recording in Motion Detection mode to send recording notifications to your mobile device via the PV Cam Viewer App. For cameras purchased before this update (12/23/15), installing this feature requires a firmware upgrade to your device. For notifications to be received, app notifications may need to be activated on your phone. Please download the firmware and follow the installation and notification activation instructions below.

To Turn Motion Detection Notifications On/Off:

Android:

  1. Go to the main "Settings" on your phone.
  2. Enter the "Application Management" section.
  3. Access the "PV Cam Viewer" app.
  4. Deactivate or activate "Notifications".
iOS:
  1. Go to the main "Settings" on your phone.
  2. Enter the "Notifications" section.
  3. Access the "PV Cam Viewer" app.
  4. Deactivate or activate "Notifications".

PV-CHG20i Firmware (for both Android and iOS)

(12-23-16) New firmware now available.

  1. Download and unzip the firmware upgrade folder.
  2. Copy the "FWA35" and "FWCHG20-8" folders onto the root directory of a formatted SD card.
  3. With the camera turned off, insert the SD card. Make sure the SD card is write protected.
  4. Power the device on, and it will automatically begin installing the new firmware. While upgrading, there will be blinking orange and green LED lights.
  5. Once the LED lights turn off, the upgrade is done and the device will restart. Your camera is now updated and ready to use.

PV-AC20uni Firmware

(12-23-16) New firmware now available.

  1. Download and unzip the firmware upgrade folder.
  2. Copy the "FWAC20uni" and "FWAC20uni-8" folders onto the root directory of a formatted SD card.
  3. With the camera turned off, insert the SD card. Make sure the SD card is write protected.
  4. Power the device on, and it will automatically begin installing the new firmware. While upgrading, there will be blinking orange and green LED lights.
  5. Once the LED lights turn off, the upgrade is done and the device will restart. Your camera is now updated and ready to use.

PV-AC20HDWI Firmware

(12-23-16) New firmware now available.

  1. Download and unzip the firmware upgrade folder.
  2. Copy the "FWA10" folder onto the root directory of a formatted SD card.
  3. With the camera turned off, insert the SD card. Make sure the SD card is write protected.
  4. Power the device on, and it will automatically begin installing the new firmware. While upgrading, there will be blinking orange and green LED lights.
  5. Once the LED lights turn off, the upgrade is done and the device will restart. Your camera is now updated and ready to use.

PV-UC10i Firmware

(12-23-16) New firmware now available.

  1. Download and unzip the firmware upgrade folder.
  2. Copy the "FWUC20i" and "FWUC10i-8" folders onto the root directory of a formatted SD card.
  3. With the camera turned off, insert the SD card. Make sure the SD card is write protected.
  4. Power the device on, and allow it to remain on. After 40 seconds, an orange and green LED light will begin blinking and the device will automatically begin installing the new firmware.
  5. Once the LED lights turn off, the upgrade is done and the device will restart. Your camera is now updated and ready to use.

PV-PB20i Firmware

(12-23-16) New firmware now available.

  1. Download and unzip the firmware upgrade folder.
  2. Copy the "FWPB20i" folder onto the root directory of a formatted SD card.
  3. With the camera turned off, insert the SD card. Make sure the SD card is write protected.
  4. Power the device on, and allow it to remain on. After 40 seconds, an orange and green LED light will begin blinking and the device will automatically begin installing the new firmware.
  5. Once the LED lights turn off, the upgrade is done and the device will restart. Your camera is now updated and ready to use.

PV-FM20HDWI Firmware

(12-23-16) New firmware now available.

  1. Download and unzip the firmware upgrade folder.
  2. Copy the "FWF20" and "FWFM20-8" folders onto the root directory of a formatted SD card.
  3. With the camera turned off, insert the SD card. Make sure the SD card is write protected.
  4. Power the device on, and allow it to remain on. After 40 seconds, an orange and green LED light will begin blinking and the device will automatically begin installing the new firmware.
  5. Once the LED lights turn off, the upgrade is done and the device will restart. Your camera is now updated and ready to use.
